Cause and Effect is a mixed bill program with three new works, two of which are world premiers. Delfos Contemporary Dance from Mazatlan Mexico will collaborate with DRT during a two-week intensive residency and create a new work drawn directly from the dancers. Andee Scott has choreographed a new piece for DRT entitled, ‘born again,’ that explores the differences between the things we say we believe and the actions we take. Finally, David Justin once again teams up with the UT School of Music by commissioning a score from Rob Deemer, a Composition Doctoral Candidate, and enlisting a 15-piece orchestra for the world premier performances. David’s piece, ‘Adverse Camber’ is a twisting and turning journey from the urban to the rural, from the ‘hard edge’ to the ‘far edge.’
